The ambassador of Nigeria in Doha, Qatar, Amb. Abdullahi Wase is dead.
Daily Trust reports that a statement in Abuja on Saturday, September 15,
by the spokesman, ministry of foreign affairs, Tope Elias-Fatile, said
Wase, a non-career ambassador from Plateau state, had been sick for a
while until his death on Friday night, September 14.
NAIJ.com gathered that the late envoy would be buried in Doha at 7.00pm
(local time) today.

“The minister of foreign affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, received the news of
his death with shock and prayed that God grant his family and the
nation the fortitude to bear the great loss,” the statement added.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had previously reported that President Muhammadu
Buhari commiserated with the family, government and people of Edo over
the death of Ambassador Queen Worlu, Nigerian Ambassador to the Republic
of Sao Tome and Principe.
Worlu died at her duty post on Monday, July 9.
The president’s condolence message is contained in a statement by his
senior special assistant on media and publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, in
Abuja on Tuesday.
“The order for the immediate evacuation of her body by the President has
been effected by the Nigerian Air Force,’’ the statement said.
